Welcome to the Youth New Ross website

Youth New Ross Ltd. was founded in 1994 by a number of professionals working in New Ross town. From their work they identified a need for supports for young people and mothers, which they could participate in within the local community.

Initially, work with pre-teen and teenage young people, young mothers and a women’s group was how YNR responded to this need.

Today, YNR manages the Youth Project, the Treoin Garda Youth Diversion Project and the Springboard Family Support Project.

We also deliver and support once off and ongoing pieces of work, which meet the needs of families and young people we work with. We often work jointly with other groups and organisations based in town and within the County in responding to specific needs.

We try to deliver the work on an integrated basis, which means that if one or all of the projects can support a child, young person or family we look at how this can be facilitated.

Each of the projects gets its own distinct funding; the Dept. of Health & Children, Youth Affairs Section through Co. Wexford VEC funds the Youth Project, The Dept. of Justice, Equality & Law Reform through the Irish Youth Justice Service and An Garda Siochana funds the Treoin GYDP with additional European Social Funds, and the Dept. of Health & Children through the HSE South funds the Springboard Project. We have also received funds from Pobal, Community Foundation of Ireland, WORD etc.
